As many of you already know, two items are extra healthy for you and are both delicious. One would be smoothies that are an excellent way to start your day, finish a workout or enjoy as a hard food supplement. The other of course is our favorite ingredient to add to these lovely recipes, otherwise known as cannabis. In this week’s blog, we outline three tasty drinks that will put a smile on your face and are great to share with a “High There” friend or two. So, break out the blender and be prepared to indulge.
- 5 grams of your favorite strain (grind the flowers til it resembles shake)
- Coconut Water
- Pomegranate Juice
Add the ground leaves to a blender on the rocks and then put in a cup of blueberries, a can of coconut water and a cup of pom juice. Blend until the drink becomes slushy. Don’t forget the straws and the medicinal aspects of drinking one of these amazing concoctions. There’s a ton of information out there regarding the benefits of using cannabis to void and treat disease such as cancer, diabetes, and stress to name a few.
Next, this recipe allows you to enjoy the many benefits of both leaves as well as cinnamon and honey to spice it up a bit.
- 1 Cup of Ground Cush of any type
- 1 Banana Cut up
- Five large Strawberries
- 1 Cup of Arugula
- ¼ Cup of Honey
- 1 Cup of Water
- ½ Cup of Ice
Just like the directions above, throw this in a blender and bada-bing, bada-boom, you’ve got a delicious snack that will help you gain clarity throughout your day. Not only will this drink keep you calm and relaxed, but there’s also plenty of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and anti-cancerous compounds to prevent you on the road to true health.
In addition to that ‘yummsicle’ organic portion, infusing cannabis with a coconut oil is a fantastic base that can be used for several smoothie recipes. For medicinal purposes, marijuana paired with coconut oil allows for a method with extra combat power.
Scoop out 1 cup of coconut oil into a crock pot and set the time for 6 hours. While the coconut oil is melting in the crock pot, bake 20 grams of full buds on a cookie sheet in the oven for 15 minutes at 200 degrees. Take the herb out of the oven then place in a blender. Using a cheese cloth, place the ground herb and fold the sides making sure the package is tightly wrapped. Tie the cheesecloth and place inside the coconut oil mixture. After the oil has cooked for 4 hours, turn the crockpot off and let it rest for up to 1 hour.
Strain by squeezing all the liquid out of the cheesecloth. Pour the liquid into a mason jar and use a few scoops with all your fabulous cannabis smoothie recipes.
